Lowry Lab (Michigan State) PhD Candidate Madison Plunkert led a new publication on the molecular mechanisms of underground storage organ development, out now in Current Opinions in Plant Biology!

The paper summarizes recent advances in our knowledge of diverse underground morphology molecular development (spoiler alert: not much is known outside of potato) and suggests avenues for expanding molecular developmental research into new model geophytic systems (hint hint monkeyflower rhizomes!).
